Bespoke. adj. /bɪˈspəʊk/ of goods; ordered to be made, as distinguished from ready-made (OED)*

Hello! I am Catherine Cunningham, owner and designer of Bespoke Design Service. This project is the result of over a decade of work in the worlds of academia and non-profit organizations. Like many organizations, my work in these worlds included a little bit of everything: project coordination, marketing, designing and implementing statistical analyses, writing published research papers, and creating and designing educational materials, all while keeping my eye on the design world. Therefore my background working in all of these arenas helps me fully understand the challenges of the non-profit/academic/small business world: I speak your language, I understand your goals, and I want to help you get your work noticed.

As a graphic designer, I have worked with an array of clients, from small businesses and non-profit organizations, to journalists, academics, and arts organizations, helping to bring attention to the good work they are doing every day.

*I pride myself in truly listening to my clients’ needs and goals and as many of my clients can attest, I work in a collaborative manner, garnering their input and feedback throughout the entire process. Each project and client receives a completely unique “product” that they can feel ownership of and proud to promote and distribute.

My work has helped organizations gain media attention and has been featured in a wide array of publications, television programs, and websites such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, NBC News, Al-Jazeera America, Univision, and Democracy Now! just to name a few, as well as being cited by both the Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders 2016 presidential campaigns. Not only does this attention raise the profile of the organizations, it also helps to drive more traffic to their websites and garner more interest in their work.

You spend a lot of time working on important topics, reports, and briefs and you want people to read them – good design will entice readers to look at more than bullets or headlines. It will not only grab readers’ attention, it will invite them in and convey your ideas in a clear and meaningful way, thus bringing your work the attention it deserves.
